Kaitlyn Tucker, a native Texan, earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Journalism from Delta State University in 2008. Prior to starting law school, Kaitlyn worked as a reporter for a daily newspaper. She earned her law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law, and graduated cum laude in 2014.

While in law school, Kaitlyn developed an interest in litigation and legal writing. She served on the Trial Advocacy Board and coached the undergraduate mock trial team. In addition, she served as the Student Coordinator for the University of Mississippi Pro Bono Initiative, where she assisted with managing the program’s family law clinics in three cities. She also worked with the University of Mississippi Innocence Project Clinic and the Criminal Appeals Clinic, where she represented indigent clients under the Mississippi Limited Practice Act. Kaitlyn earned Outstanding Student Achievement awards for receiving the highest grade on three legal-policy journal articles.

Kaitlyn spent her first two years of practice in Nashville, Tennessee. She worked for Tennessee Health Care Finance and Administration, where she represented the State in Medicaid administrative hearings. The majority of her practice focused on eligibility decisions for nursing facility Medicaid benefits. There, she developed a keen interest in health law and compliance.

Kaitlyn returned to Texas in 2016.

Kaitlyn is a member of the Greater Houston Society of Healthcare Risk Management and the Houston Bar Association.

When she takes a break from work, Kaitlyn enjoys cooking, reading, photography, and live music.
