Medical Quiz #5 – Famous Patient

One of the most recognized and esteemed figures of the last century, this scientist won a Nobel Prize. He was also a prolific author, and personal advisor to President Franklin D. Roosevelt on matters of national security during World War II. He died from a chronic abdominal condition, which had been treated surgically five years prior to his death. However, the patient refused further surgery when subsequently hospitalized with recurrent abdominal pain. A pulsating mass was found on exam, and the condition proved fatal. One of his body parts was stolen at autopsy.
